Neurologist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles
KNOXVILLE, TN (August 30, 2019) – Tennova Healthcare recently welcomed Arvo Kanna, M.D., neurologist, to his new medical practice at Tennova Neurology – Newport. Dr. Kanna is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of neurological conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, diabetic neuropathy, tremors, migraines, multiple sclerosis, dementia and Parkinson’s disease. He has a special interest in therapies for Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Kanna is uniquely qualified in neuroimaging techniques, and performs neurophysiology studies including nerve conduction studies and electroencephalography (EEG).
He earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, CA. Dr. Kanna completed an internship and residency at Michigan State University – Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in Kalamazoo, MI: and an internship at the State University of New York at Buffalo – Graduate Medical-Dental Education Consortium, Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, NY. He received fellowship training in neuroimaging at Dent Neurological Institute, Millard Fillmore Hospitals, also in Buffalo, NY. Dr. Kanna is triple board certified in internal medicine, neurology and neuroimaging.
